Kay Hooper

February 3, 2008 at 9:00 pm (book review, fun) (, )

Last night was one of those nights when I went to bed, fell asleep and woke up around 2am. Wide Awake. I tossed and turned a bit, then gave up. I grabbed my book , some blankets, and went to the living room couch. I had just started Kay Hooper’s Blood Dreams. If you haven’t read any of her books, she writes serial killer mysteries with a twist. The people that solve the mysteries are psychic and there is a mix of romance. Fast-moving, plot- driven books. Formulaic, but entertaining. I’ve read a lot of her books very close together and she seemed to have two types of heroines- the fragile, psychic beauty and the strong ,angry woman. I was pleased that in Blood Dreams our heroine was much more well balanced. She had things to learn and wasn’t nearly as stubborn as some of Hooper’s heroines have been.

I enjoy Kay Hooper’s works, but maybe not as an insomnia cure. I do tend to stay up until I finish her books.
