Evil, evil carpet

August 4, 2008 at 12:39 pm (domestic life, home improvement) (, )

with surprise evil floor under it. Ancient linoleum tiles ( the fake brick look) with a nice thick layer of ancient glue. gross and really pretty too.( ok ,lying) To get up this carpet — we cut it in six inch strips and pull and pull and pull. cursing helps. First time I’ve ever wished for more junk in my trunk — I am just leaning back and using my whole body to pull the carpet. Right now,I’m pretending that there is nothing else I should be doing right now, but sit on the couch.

LOL, sounds like me when I tried to pull up the linoleum last year. My sister and I layed that stuff down with industrial strength glue. It took me, my brother, and my sister 2 weeks to pull that crap up with a hammer and a putty knife. Nothing else worked. Can you say sore muscles?

sore muscles, oh yeah. My hands are the worse, typing is hard.

Did you try heat with the linoleum? Not recommended for carpets, but the professionals use heat guns. I’ve even seen blow torches.

The linoleum is staying. It is pretty intact and guess what floor guys use under hardwood floors – cheap linoleum.
