    Did you know that “The Wizard of Oz” was a political commentary? Each character represents a particular person or group.

    That makes sense to me. But I’ve never read the book. Did you read an annoted version or see it on wiki?

    Wasn’t it a commentary about the Dust Bowl with Emerald City representing DC? Or something like that.

    And then don’t forget about the really strange “coincidences” that occur when you play the video portion of the movie using Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon as the sound track.

    I learned about it in my economics class, but it can be found on the web. The Emerald City does represent DC, one of the witches represents the populist party, and a bunch of other groups.
