Here Lies the Librarian

December 2, 2008 at 11:33 am (book review) (, )

herelies I read this book a couple of days ago.  A kid’s book, but I couldn’t resist the title.  It takes place during the summer of 1914 in a town that is barely big enough to exist.  Peewee and Jack have a garage , but it is barely  doing any business, due to location and the fact that not to many people have cars.  When Irene, a young librarian, motors through town, it is the beginning of big changes in Peewee’s life.  It  is a fun book with a lot of quirky  characters , adventure, early  automotive history and a good picture of the beginning of change in women’s roles.   I think it  would be a fun book to read aloud to the whole family
