perfect day

January 1, 2009 at 6:13 pm (domestic life)

Today  started with brunch at a friends house — Just  a little too much food and the right amount of champagne.  We walked home, spent a little time on the computer , finished my book, and took a lovely  nap.  Then I worked in my  garden for a bit and chatted with some neighbors.  DH worked a bit in the woodshop.  Now we are watching Eragon, and soon  leftover steak sandwiches.

A good start to a new year

We had a great day also. We had the neighbors over fot our first, ( Aunt A. calls it a redneck party) oyster roast/crockpot shredded pork BBQ. Everyone brought a dish to share. The tempature was 48 but we had a nice fire going. Some folks roasted hot dogs and marsh mellow. Only a few oyster left, enough BBQ for lunch for 2 today. The rest of the lefft overs, everyone took home. We celebrated a birthday The kids brought a game to play . Clean up easy. Out door party’s in winter are great. We didn’t have to clean up the house before the party. For a party put together at the last minute. It was super!
