airborn

Airborn by Kenneth Oppel is just a fun read . Victorian time period with airships, but no airplanes. Matt, 15, works on the airship as a cabin boy. He meets Kate, whose grandfather Matt had attempted to rescue from a balloon. Kate has a journal full of her grandfather’s observations, including details about a possible new animal species. But pirates and a shipwreck and an uncharted island add a lot of excitement to a routine trip. The second one is sitting on my desk
