So I’ve been thinking about the Zombie apocalypse, as one does. What would I need and what would be the winning item to have the corner on. I have a cold , so my first thought was guaifenesin. But then I thought , the person that corners the market on steam is the winner. It is good for colds and asthma and sore muscles and cold weather. It is also really good for cleaning, especially if you have a microfiber cloth. And of course it can be used as a power source. I’m pretty sure with the current tech in plastics and metals we could do stuff that was more useful than early attempts at steam power.
( and no, I’m not so worried about vampires – they are smart enough to know they need people – so they will do what they can to keep the cattle happy )
Zombies are not my monsters . They are boring. They just run around brainlessly eating people. but now I’ve read three good zombie books.
The first was World War Z , by Max Brooks which an episodic, vegnet style book using reports, news paper accounts, diaries entries to tell the story of a war against zombies.
The second was Feed by Mira Grant. which was more of a political thriller after we created a world full of zombies.
And I just finished Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Marberry. it is a YA book where the kids – just remember the zombie uprising. and while the zombies are still, zombies – it adds the humanity back to monsters. A really good compelling story
In 2014, we cured the common cold and cancer. But in the process we created something terrible. Zombies.
Worse, it was ignored. Or under reported. It took the bloggers to bring the information to light.
Feed begins in 2039 , Zombies are a part of life. So is fear. But we still need news/information. and there is an upcoming election…
Currently I am reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I am finding it really funny. But it also reminds me that I often find myself defending Mrs. Bennett. ( If you don’t know P&P, she is the mother of 5 daughters) She is loud, silly, and narrow-minded. And her only concern is to get her daughters well-married. Now add some zombies to the mix. Really, you begin to see that not only is marriage the only option for a well-bred woman of the time, but it might also be the only thing that stops her daughters for continuing their slaying/zombie hunting. Put your self back in time and in Mrs. Bennett’s shoes… Which life would you prefer for your daughter?

Is this where I mention that I got a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for my birthday?
